This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies only to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
Categories of personal information we collect
- Identifiers. Name, email, phone number, mailing address, IP address, and account ID.
- Commercial information. Vehicles submitted, bids placed, items purchased, and transaction history.
- Internet or network activity. Pages viewed, listings watched, and interactions with the site.
- Geolocation. General location inferred from IP address.
- Financial information. Payment method details handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor (we do not store full card numbers).
- Inferences. Buyer/seller preferences drawn from your activity.
Sources
We collect this information directly from you when you create an account, submit a vehicle, place a bid, or contact us; automatically from your device when you use the site; and from service providers such as our payment processor and authentication provider.
Business purposes
- Operating the marketplace — auctions, listings, bidding, payments, and messaging.
- Account verification, security, and fraud prevention.
- Sending transactional notifications (including SMS alerts you opt into) and service communications.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
- Marketing communications related to GM Vault (you may opt out at any time).
Disclosure to third parties
In the prior 12 months, GM Vault has disclosed identifiers, commercial information, internet activity, and financial information to service providers — including our payment processor, hosting/backend provider, email and SMS providers, and analytics provider — strictly to operate the platform on our behalf.
Sale or sharing of personal information
GM Vault does not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly collect or sell the personal information of minors under 16.
Your California rights
- Right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell or share.
- Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (not currently applicable, as GM Vault does not sell or share).
- Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information (we use it only for permitted business purposes).
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
How to exercise your rights
Email Info@gmvault.com with the subject "California Privacy Request." We will verify your identity using information associated with your GM Vault account. Authorized agents may submit requests with written, signed authorization.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the marketplace, comply with our legal obligations (including tax, dispute, and recordkeeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
