Oldsmobile — GM's engineering-first brand.
Oldsmobile was one of America's oldest automakers and GM's technology showcase — first with the fully automatic Hydramatic and the Rocket V8. The 442 and Hurst/Olds define its performance-era collector market.
Oldsmobile history
Founded 1897, acquired by GM in 1908, discontinued in 2004. Oldsmobile pioneered the Rocket V8 in 1949, front-drive full-size cars with the Toronado, and turbocharging with the Jetfire.
