Hummer — GM's military-derived off-road brand.
AM General's civilian HMMWV became the Hummer H1 in 1992, and GM took over the Hummer brand in 1999. H1s, H2s, and the current GMC Hummer EV are the collector focus.
Hummer history
Hummer began as a civilian version of the AM General M998 HMMWV in 1992. GM launched the H2 in 2002 and the H3 in 2005, discontinued the brand in 2010, and revived it as the GMC Hummer EV in 2021.
